Galaxy S3 I9300 India Android 4 3 Jelly Bean Update Try Via OTA or Kies or Manually Update Using Odin

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 started receiving Official Stock Android 4.3 update in India with the build number I9300XWUGML4. The first official bug fixed Android 4.3 was released a month before this release in the US and some other regions. The features included in this release are same as the US Android 4.3 version. As we stated in the older post the Core UI is totally revamped and look almost like Galaxy S4, Note 3 etc. Even the lowest budget device like Galaxy Duos 2 with Android 4.2.2 has the S4 like the latest weather widget, Samsung hasnt included that most expected one in this update.

Along with UI change the update also has improved performance, new camera modes, improved battery, App to SD support, etc. See the list below for complete set of features available in this latest update.

Galaxy S Advance i9070 Android 4 1 2 Root And Delete Unwanted System Apps To Speed Up The Device

Samsung Galaxy S Advance, one of the old successor in Galaxy series cant manage to run Android 4.1.2 smoothly due to its average specs. The device packed with a Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and 768 MB of RAM memory. As a Samsung device S Advance also bloated with many Samsung apps like ChatOn, S Voice, Samsung App store, etc. Many of the users not uses most of these pre installed apps and they are not able to remove these system apps due to lack of root permission.

According to many Galaxy S Advance users, the device freezes frequently even after the update to the available latest update Android 4.1.2. As Samsung hasnt released an update fix to the S Advance, the only solution which prevents the device from frequent freezing is clearing the ROM memory by removing the unwanted System apps. You can remove any of the system app by gaining root access.

In this post I included the simplest and best way to root Samsung Galaxy S Advance without using Computer. This root process is safer as it will not change the kernel and will not increase the binary count.

Note:
- This root is only for Galaxy S Advance i9070 Android 4.1.2
- Minimum 50% charge required
- Rooting may void warranty

Galaxy S Advance Android 4.1.2 Root

1. Download root.zip - Download
2. Copy root.zip to external SD card.
3. Reboot S Advance to recovery mode ( Volume up + Home + Power ).
4. In recovery select apply update from external storage.
( use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select )
5. On the next screen, select root.zip and wait to finish installation.
6. Finally ... Go back and select reboot system now.

Thats it...

After root you can remove any system apps to get more free memory, which will speed up your S Advance. Follow the below post to uninstall system apps.

Galaxy S2 GT I9100 Official Stock Android 4 1 2 Jelly Bean Update Using Odin All Countries

When Galaxy S2 I9100 received its first Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update I published a post on the same. The firmwares build was XWLS8. Even I9100 is the international version of Galaxy S2 flashing different countries firmware may cause error like imei lost, screen lock problem, power menu lose etc. At first release , the jelly bean update was not available for all countries but now its available for most of the country. So if you prefer to flash Stock firmware choose the official firmware belongs to your country.

In this post I included the steps to manually update Galaxy S2 I9100 to Official Android 4.1.2 using Odin v1.85. Download links of all the latest Galaxy S2 stock firmwares included. Download the one belongs to specific countries.

Must Note :
1. This update only for Samsung Galaxy S2 International variant I9100
2. Make sure that your phone is factory unlocked not locked for specific carrier
3. Backup All the Data in your Phone
4. Your Phone Charge Must Be 80% or above
5. Enable USB Debugging
6. Make sure you have installed Kies or S2 driver
7. Exit Antivirus, Kies etc .. before start flashing.

1. Download and Extract the Official Stock Android 4.1.2 firmware zip for your Country - Download

2. Download and Extract the Odin3 v1.85 - Download

3. Power off and boot Galaxy S2 into download mode. ( Volume down + Home + Power )

4. In download mode connect your phone to PC.

5. Now Open Odin 1.85 and look in to ID:COM box it will be yellow with a port name and a "Added!" message will be displayed in Message box.

6. In Odin..Click PDA and select the extracted firmware tar.md5 file.

eg. I9100XXXXX_I9100XXXXX_I9100XXXXXX_HOME.tar.md5



7. Finally, Click Start button and wait...After successful flashing Odin will show PASS on top left and the phone will reboot.



Thats it....

Note :
If the phone stuck at the boot screen or face any force close...
1. Remove and reinsert your battery.
2. Now boot into recovery mode. (Volume up + Home + Power )
3. Apply wipe data/factory reset.
4. Apply wipe cache partition.
5. Finally reboot system...

Galaxy S3 GT I9300 Official Stock Android 4 3 Update Using Odin Bug Fixed Firmwares Added

After leaking the Android 4.3 pre release the Next day Samsung started rolling out the Official Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 International version. The PDA, CSC, MODEM all are same as the pre release one. According to users the annoying deep sleep and battery drain issue is still exist in this Official version too. All the problems are fixed by Samsung in the latest Android 4.3 december release.

Even Samsung made many changes in this Official Android 4.3 build, The much expected KNOX feature not implemented and the Launcher and widgets all are same as in the previous Android 4.1.2.

Post updated with bug fixed official Android 4.3 december release and Open Europe Firmware.All the buggy firmwares removed...Posted firmwares doesnt have any bug exist in the previous 4.3 version ... I flashed the Open Europe in my Indian Galaxy S3 I9300 and everything works fine...no lockscreen lag,no deep sleep issue...better battery backup.

Via OTA or Kies currently the update available in Ireland and Switzerland only. But, still you can manually update to any of the build using Odin. In this post I included the steps to update Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 to Official Stock Android 4.3 using Odin.

Note:
- Before trying Manual update try OTA or Kies to check if the update is officially available in your region.

Must Note:
- This firmware is only for Galaxy S3 International version (GT-I9300)
- Backup all important data
- Battery must be 60% or above
- Kill all the kies processes in Task Manager
- Disable Antivirus

How To Manually Update Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 to Official Stock Android 4.3 using Odin?

1. Download Galaxy S3 I9300 Official Android 4.3 firmware from SamMobile Or Samsung-updates

2. Extract downloaded firmware file zip.

Method 1 (Single File)
if the extracted zip have a single md5 file follow this method.

1. Download Odin v1.85 - Download
2. Now, Extract and Open odin3 v1.85.exe.
3. Power off your phone.
4. Now boot into download mode. ( Press and hold : Volume down key and Home button ( Center button ) ,now press and hold the power button to boot into download mode and Press Volume up on Warning)
5. In download mode connect your phone to PC.
6. Now look in to Odin... ID:COM box, it will be yellow with a port name and Added! message will be displayed.
( If not it will the problem of driver or USB ... check both )
7. In Odin..Click PDA and browse the extracted firmware folder and select the tar md5 file.

eg. I9300XXXXXX_I9300XXXXXXX_I9300XXXXXX_HOME.tar.md5

8. Finally Click Start button.



9. After complete update Odin will show PASS on top left and phone will reboot. now unplug phone from USB.



Thats it .... Done .

Method 2 ( Multiple Files) - Show / Hide
If the extracted zip have multiple md5 files include MODEM, CSC, BL and AP....then, follow this

1. Download Odin3 v3.09 - Download

2. Extract Odin .ZIP file

3. Open Odin3 v3.09

4. Restart phone in download mode (Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons)

5. Connect phone and wait until you get a blue color in ID:COM box.

6. Click AP button and select
AP_I9300XXXXXXX_XXXXXXX_XXXXX_user_low_ship.tar.md5

7. Click BL button and select
BL_I9300XXXXXXX_XXXXXXX_XXXXX_user_low_ship.tar.md5

8. Click CP button and select
MODEM_I9300XXXXXXX_XXXXX_XXXXX_XXXXXXXXX.tar.md5

9. Click CSC button and select
CSC_XXX_I9300XXXXXXX_XXXXXXX_XXXXX_user_low_ship.tar.md5

10. Make sure Re-Partition is NOT ticked



11. Finally, Click the Start button and wait a few minutes.

Thats it...After complete update Odin will show PASS on top left and phone will reboot.

Note :
